Why are braces (which are fixed in) not treif? If you drink a hot coffee they should become meaty, and then later if you have a hot cholent, they become ??? ????!

I know a guy who used to double wrap his mouth whenever he ate for this reason.
You’re supposed to blow-torch the braces before Pesach.
Torching isn’t necessary. Just fill your mouth with water and sit on the stove until it boils.
