Studying Bolok’s name we can connect him both to Tammuz 17th & July 4th [which also came out simultaneously during 1776, albeit on a Thursday as happened during 1996].
1st way to analyze Bolok’s name is to look for the root of his name in Sefer Macberes Menachem [Sepher very often quoted by Rashi] and Machberet Menachem quotes 2 instances of this root being utilized, including Issiah 24, 1, where translation of “uVolko” [same root as Bolok] is “breach” or “split”.
1)Clearly, “breach” is exactly what Tammuz 17th is all about.
2)Then talking about “split” Rav Schwab’s Sefer on Issiah mentions splitting of the Jewish people with the discovery of America as coming to mind when discussing this verb. Clearly this is what July 4th is all about.
