Avreich in Kollel Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak gave up an inheritance of tens of millions of euros from the family business, because the money comes from Shabbat desecration [Chillul Shabbat]. The Yungerman consulted with rabbis and decided to give up the money.
Yanki Farber, Behadrei Hareidim.

Heartwarming.
October 21, 2022 3:07 pm at 3:07 pm #2131520Reb EliezerParticipantI am discussing in another topic the question whether this young man considered the possibility that the people making the money are a tinuk shenishba where Rav Yehuda Assad’s view is that their touch of wine is not nesach?
October 21, 2022 5:05 pm at 5:05 pm #2131560ujmParticipantDoes the avreich also not eat in his father’s home since his father purchased the food with the same tainted money that the avreich is refusing to accept as an inheritance?
October 22, 2022 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #2131659Yserbius123ParticipantI’m questioning literally everything about this.
October 22, 2022 11:24 pm at 11:24 pm #2131662Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantmaybe poskim advised him to take the money, but to say publicly that he did not to make his life easier?
October 23, 2022 8:17 am at 8:17 am #2131728fghijParticipantWhy are people reacting about the kiddush Hashem when it’s clear the article was very vague.
October 23, 2022 1:46 pm at 1:46 pm #2131803Avi KParticipantI also have my doubts about this story. The father and uncles did not do a melacha themselves. Even if they did, it would at least be permitted בכדי שיעשה .
October 23, 2022 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm #2131884ymribiatParticipantIf you believe every story, you are a fool. If you doubt any story, your a heretic.
But we need to recognize that the real hero if the story is his wife, who has supported her husband without any assistance from her husband’s family, public assistance (in Israel, which also comes from חילול שבת) or from the vast majority of Torah institutions that access donations without investigating their source.
October 23, 2022 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #2131890ujmParticipantHow is the wife more of a hero than the husband, in regards to this inheritance story?
October 24, 2022 12:03 am at 12:03 am #2131914lakewhutParticipantMaybe the money was made illegitimately in other ways. Noticr they don’t say which daas Torah advised him. Many yeshivas and other Frum Jewish causes took donations from mechalelei shabbos.
October 24, 2022 1:38 am at 1:38 am #2131928Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantThe wife is the one who needs to feed the family …
October 24, 2022 1:28 pm at 1:28 pm #2132095crazy horseParticipantgive it to me.
October 24, 2022 7:39 pm at 7:39 pm #2132166Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant> give it to me.
everyone gets his own mazal. If you get his money, you also get his (possible) mafiozi brothers… who probably have other relatives who can come back to talk to you. That might have been a good reason to refuse the money.
