I saw oodles of frum yidden taking advantage of the sale prices last night.

Who in their right mind would spend time waiting on line instead of posting here on line?
This year 5774 permission for all to wear the Black Hat will be on a Sunday (and Motzei Shabbos before) March 16. In Jerusalem the permission is extended thru Monday March 17.

Only in America do people trample each other for a sale exactly one day after being thankful for what they already have.
Perhaps this is the problem. Jews claim that they don’t need to celebrate Thanksgiving because we are thankful every day (modim anachnu…). But lemaysa perhaps we an use a day to take a step back and reflect on our thankfulness before the greed of black Friday is upon us.
We must save ourselves from the poverty that results from ignoring Black Friday.
