The US Ambassador is now the Ambassador to the West Bank and Gaza
Is that the way to start a relationship with a US ally?
(By the way, what does that even mean? That the WB and Gaza are sovereign states but due to budget constraints let’s just have one Embassy for all? Or maybe it’s just like saying ‘The Israeli Ambassador to the USA, Mt Rushmore and Boro Park’?)January 22, 2021 3:02 am at 3:02 am #1941395mobicoParticipantJanuary 22, 2021 8:20 am at 8:20 am #1941400commonsaychelParticipant@madaliya, you need a separate ambassador of Brooklyn after all the world revolves around Brooklyn

This was not a statement, it was an answer.
By the way there is nothing to confirm. As long as the embassy is there it is the capital in the eyes of the US.
The need to legitimate Hamas controlled Gaza within 24hrs of his Inauguration, should disturb anyone who cares about their brothers in EYJanuary 22, 2021 9:53 am at 9:53 am #1941426jackkParticipantMadeAliyah,
Please correct the title. This was not a statement or even the first words of Biden to Israel.
It was the US ambassador to Israel’s Twitter account that briefly includes West Bank, Gaza.
It reverted back to just Israel. It was probably not done with consultation with Biden.
To all the trump supporters who want to trash Biden regarding Israel. Do not create a self-fulfilling prophecy. He has done everything right in terms of the start of his relationship with Israel. Which is really a continuation of the very good relationship he had for 8 years in the Obama administration.
The embassy can be moved out of Jerusalem just as it was moved in. Confirming that Jerusalem is Israel’s capitol is a major statement by the Biden SOS.
January 22, 2021 9:54 am at 9:54 am #1941429GadolhadorahParticipantWould it really make sense to have two guys sitting in Yerushalayim with one talking only to Israeli diplomats and the other talking only to the Palestinian reps. Biden campaigned on a policy of moving U.S. policy towards inclusion of the Palestinians in some role. Trump (Kushner) did a good job of opening the door economically with other Arab countries but there will be no long-term internal progress until there is progress with the Palestinians.

Good move,“It was probably not done with consultation with Biden.”
If true, that would confirm the fear that Biden is just a puppet for the radical left“Which is really a continuation of the very good relationship he had for 8 years in the Obama administration.”
Ever heard of the Ramat Shlomo story? Google it.“The embassy can be moved out of Jerusalem just as it was moved in. Confirming that Jerusalem is Israel’s capitol is a major statement by the Biden SOS.”
It is a major statement – for Biden. What does that show about his ties with Israel?January 23, 2021 7:05 pm at 7:05 pm #1941511MadeAliyahParticipant“Would it really make sense to have two guys sitting in Yerushalayim with one talking only to Israeli diplomats and the other talking only to the Palestinian reps. Inclusion of the Palestinians by talking to the PA or Hamas is a bad idea.
The PA does care about it’s own people (I personally know Arabs who have said this). It would be good for the President to know this.
Hamas is obviously worse.“there will be no long-term internal progress until there is progress with the Palestinians.”
Is this the new mutation of “there will be no peace without the Palestinians”?
It is just as false and just as bad as the originalJanuary 24, 2021 7:27 am at 7:27 am #1941681charliehallParticipant“that would confirm the fear that Biden is just a puppet for the radical left”
If you got out of your bubble and actually read radical left social media and internet sites you would know that within two hours of his swearing in, the radical left was attacking Biden in language far more strident than they ever used to attack Trump.
I expected this but I figured that they would at least wait a day. They passionately hate Biden because they know that they have no real influence over him. That he completely froze them out of major appointments to his Administration has now made them as panicky and desparate as the Trump Cult. The truth is that there isn’t much difference between the radical left and the Trump Cult other than the lack of a single cult leader in the former. They both hate America and everything it stands for.

Netanyahu was to blame for the ramat shlomo story It was a downgrading of the relationship with the US by embarrassing the US when the VP is on an official visit.
It culminated in 2015 when Netanyahu spoke to congress and worked with the Republicans to undermine not just Obama’s efforts to strike a nuclear deal with Iran, but his presidential authority over foreign policy. It was a tremendous insult to the US president. (And I know how much Trump supporters care about the Kavod that the American president deserves /sarcasm.) The effect was to politically polarize an issue that has long been bipartisan in Washington: support for Israel.
Trump in the past 4 years has drilled into his supporters that only republicans support Israel and that democrats are anti Israel. Biden has not taken the bait. He has stayed with the value of bi-partisan support for Israel.
If Israel makes moves to damage the relationship when a Democrat is President it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
On a separate point, Trump hired a person to create a peace plan between Israel and the Palestinians. He worked over 3 years on it.
Sadly, it never came to light , just like trump’s healthcare plan.January 24, 2021 10:24 am at 10:24 am #1941762MadeAliyahParticipant1. The renaming of the Ambassador was done either with Biden’s consent or without. I was not saying I know the truth, I was saying both options are disturbing.
2.Does ‘leaving my bubble’ mean reading radical left-wing sites? And can you name one of these sites? (It’s getting stuffy in the non-radical bubble)
3.What part of America does the ‘Trump Cult’ hate? Making it great again? The right to free speech? Not labelling the US as systematically racist? The national anthem and flag?
(Or maybe, just maybe, your also in a bubble)4.Back to tho OP, I would love to hear your remarks.

He sat in his basement all the statements in his name were fake, not from him. All his speeches were written by others . There is no president Biden it’s all a facade.

1. Getting insulted by Israel building on it’s own land (under any circumstance) demonstrates Biden’s ‘great relationship with Israel’2.As for the self-fulfilling prophecy, you may be right, thats why I don’t make predictions.
January 24, 2021 2:39 pm at 2:39 pm #1941888commonsaychelParticipant@made aliya, when is Israel going to send an ambassador to Boro Park.

Right after the US sends an ambassador to Gaza, never to be seen again. But seriously, we should all daven and hope that the new President will make the right choices, and bring the Malchus Shel Chesed only good.
The jews of the US and EY need it. -
