I find the whole movement very sad. I wish they could have chosen to appropriate Vietnamese culture instead, or even make the intellectual effort rediscover their own roots. I guess it’s easier to read certain parts of the Christian bible and yell at everyone though.

Ppl can’t take the fact the Jews have a covenant with G-d, but instead of following the law and becoming part of the covenant, it’s too hard, so they decide instead to deny that anyone has this covenant. THIS, and ONLY this, has been the sole reason for Paul founding christianity in the first place.
The Ancient Greeks, if you read Apion, hated the jew for the same reason, so they said the jews are a made up ppl, with no real history. Josephus wrote an entire book, Contra Apion, to defend the jewish history of the Bible. Eventually, reality started sinking in, and if not for Paul, EVERYONE would have become jewish.

The “Black Hebrews” are very similar to many other African American religions that were created out of odds and ends picked up by people who were not only enslaved, but done so in a manner that prevented transmission of their own culture (e.g. newly enslaved persons were rarely living together with slaves who shared their own language and culture). They ended up “inventing” their own culture, which is why many African American religious groups seem a bit outlandish. The “Black Hebrews” are clearly goyim, and like many American goyim, choose aspects of Biblical (as they define it) history to “appropriate”.

No mesorah; no, they think that Jews went to Africa after the churban, which some individuals did – but they ignore basic history, written record of the time, archaeology, everything, which says that the vast majority of the jews were sent to bavel, and stayed between there and EY until the geonim.
