I was at a barn raisin’ yesterday, and we were talking about how the sukka was going to blow like a sail in the wind.

Well, then a fella said that he builds his sukka out of PVC pipe, and ties tarps to it, and when the wind blows, he has a pulley system rigged so he pulls the rope, and the walls fold up (like a sail).

    Wind blows right through.

And nuch besser, all the pieces are interchangeable, so when you lose one, you just go to home despot and buy a new piece.

pba- Sounds cool, but the walls need to be able to withstand a “ruach metzuya” an ordinary wind gust, to be kosher.

yungerman: I imagine he ties them down while he is eating.

The idea is to protect it from ruach sheino metzuya while he is not eating.

At least, that is why I would do it.

I use the PCV pipe and Tarp, I dont have the pully thing though

I can get the Sukkah built in about 2 hours or less

Not to debate this now, but some say that if the tarp can sway more than three tefachim (I think) its pasul.

I tie the Tarp to the Top PCV , The Bottom PCV and the Poles that stand up straight
