I want to buy an mp3 player for my husband to listen to shiurim. I heard the best kind is one that has a browser but most don’t have that function. Do you know of one with a browser or which is good for shiurim?
if it has a browser it would require a monthly fee, and being it would have access to the Internet i don’t think you would be able to lend it to your kids.
SanDisk Sansa Express – extremely easy to use and very affordable. The 2GB can hold over 30 hours of shiurim (probably even more, but I don’t put more than 20 shiurim on at a time). You don’t need any special program for your computer (like itunes) – all you need is a computer and you can use the mp3 just like a flash drive. I’m very happy with mine. (And I don’t know what you mean about a browser).
I assume you don’t mean a web browser but rather a browser for your mp3 files. iPods are good for this. They have big screens where you can browse by Artist or Album and you can make playlists and browse those. I think the newer ones can be used to record shiurim as well.
Thank you. I don’t mean a web browser. Someone told me that the titles and topics arent always clear when you download shiurim so you need to make separate folders on your pc then download the shiurim in the folders. That way you can clearly find what you need with a browser function. I don’t know if this makes sense.
That does make sense. There is a browser on the Sansa. It’s not as clear as an ipod, but I’m really happy with it… especially because it cost a fraction of the price of an ipod!
even though i already recommended the ipod, i would like to add, the quantity of downloads, the amount of time he’ll be using it, and your financial situation, are all very important parts of the decision process.
