I’m in a position where I’m required to be as closely-shaven in the morning as possible. I’ve been using Remington shavers, but I’ve been finding them to not be as effective as I once thought. Does anyone know what the best Kosher shaver is? I’m looking for more of a specific model that I can shop for than a general topic. Thanks!

I am using the Andis T-Liner trimmer, and it’s very popular in the yeshivish circles.

If your posek allows use of Braun (foil) shavers, those are great shavers.

I have a Norleco and after removing the lift I cant get a close shave unless I dont shave for a couple of days.

the absolute best is braun foil- but some some poiskim dont allow it. if not then norelco- but youll need to take out the lift and cut. its really easy- i did it myself. check out koshershaver.com

Thanks everyone! I hold of Rav Belsky who does not allow the Braun shavers. So other than that it seems like the consensus is Norelco (as opposed to Remington). Does anyone know of any specific model that gives the best shave?

as annoying as this sounds the rule in shavers is ” the more it costs the better it works”. i find that there really is a difference. when i used to try and get away with a thirty dollar shaver i could tell the dif. go for the norelco with lotion in it. i dont mean cuz of that but i know it works well.

I have been using Norelco/Phillips Shavers for as long as i an remember.

I take out the lift and cut which is pretty easy if you have a good pliers and patience.

For the past few years (more than few) I somehow never manage to get a clean enough shave. I buy a new one around every two years.

A friend of mine uses a specific Remington shaver

and it seems that he gets a closer shave.

His model is kosher. though I assume many Remingtons aren’t.

I also would love to know if there is any specific Kosher model out there that does a good job. I always figured my stubble

is more coarse than many others, hence a clean enough shave eludes me to this day. So I look to the future hoping my fellow CR

buddies will help me as well as “chaimss” achieve a clean shave.

P.S. Braun is not acceptable to me.

My personal opinion is that years ago, before lift and cut, the shavers worked better. The motors used to roar and spin so fast. You could feel the power. Now, they have started putting in wimpy motors to save them money which have so little power, that they cut very poorly. I believe motor speed is more important than the blade technology. Maybe a frum guy should open a new shaver business and go back to the old way when they were all kosher, and cut well.

Hmmm… that’s an interesting idea… maybe it’s time to go on eBay and see if they’re still selling those old ones with unopened blades…
