OK – I know this is not so important but it can be annoying – even embarrassing.
Why can’t bentching be in the same place in all bentchers? Sometimes it’s at the beginning. Other times it’s in the middle. Then you can also have it at the end.
I feel so foolish flipping through this relatively small “booklet” to find it, especially when everyone seems to have found it so quickly.
Gefen you are not a klutz, i didnt see this thread earlier i have this problem also a uniform layout would be great, as it is mainly used for bentching i would think that bentching would be in the front.
No, you’re not the only one. My mom does not read Hebrew, but she will read the English translation. She won’t use any bencher except an old one from my wedding, because she knows exactly which page to go to.
It must be even harder in a bencher that has more than one version of benching!
mommamia22: That’s exactly what I do many times, start by heart till I find the page. But in the meantime, it’s distracting and I end up forgeting where I was up to.
takahmamash: “It must be even harder in a bencher that has more than one version of benching!” Yes – I once started bentching and suddenly the words looked really strange. It was the Sfardit version. I don’t mean sfard as opposed to ashkenaz. I mean Sfardit as in totally different than ours.
My Benches don’t go to the park nor to Ocean Parkway, but go straight from the wedding hall to my Pesach closet, and my Haggodoh’s don’t have to be lambasted for entire week of Pesach.
