My friend just had all his mattresses changed in his home after the family got bitten up one night by bed bugs.
He has no clue how in the world they got there.
Does anyone know anything about these vile creatures?
Any info will help.

bed bugs live in any articles of furniture, clothing, or bedding, so they or their eggs may be present in used furniture or clothing. they spread by crawling and may contaminate multiple rooms in a home or even multiple dwellings in apartment buildings. they may also be present in boxes, suitcases, or other goods that are moved from residence to residence or from a hotel to home. bed bugs can live on clothing from infested homes and may be spread by a person unknowingly wearing infested clothing.
youll have to find another source for any further information. i have a weak spot for bed bugs. i like to pretend they dont exist

The cleanup is a HUGE pain. Every single item of clothing and linen will have to be laundered in hot water and bagged; every item will have to be removed from every drawer in the affected rooms; the furniture will be turned over so it can be sprayed from all angles; pictures will have to be removed from the walls; etc. – the exterminator will have the details. I would not trust an exterminator who suggests spraying without taking everything out because the bugs hide. Once everything is clean, put the mattresses & box springs in zippered bags.

If not, make sure you get an exterminator who is experinaced in getting rid of these nasty creatures. If it is not done right the first time you will have nothing but problems. Trust me, we have been there and done that. B”H we are finally done with those pests! Good luck!

We did get rid of them on our own and we were quite successful. If you want details I can provide them.
It was a good amount of work, but much easier (and safer) than calling an exterminator and doing what they were recommending.
