It is with great sadness and pain we inform you of the sudden and untimely passing of Itzhak Schier OBM, a Lubavitcher entrepreneur who last resided in Ukraine. He was 47.
Itzchak, a large and happy personality, was a frequent presence on many social and news websites as well as a frequent commenter here on YWN.
He was in Bangkok, Thailand attending a Pesach Seder with the local Chabad when he suffered a cardiac episode and passed away.
The levaya was held Sunday, 1:00 PM, at the Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodridge, NJ.

He will be missed.

April 9, 2013 7:29 pm at 7:29 pm #944886yitayningwutParticipantWith respect to the editor, I would like to know if there is good ethical justification for revealing personal info post-mortem. If not, this thread should be deleted.
April 9, 2013 7:30 pm at 7:30 pm #944887achosidParticipantHe was never anonymous. That is your answer.
April 9, 2013 8:04 pm at 8:04 pm #944888charliehallParticipantBaruch Dayan HaEmet. Is there a shiva?
April 9, 2013 8:13 pm at 8:13 pm #944889acersParticipantHe was niftar on Pesach, so the shiva may have ended. Though the U.S. levaya was on Sunday, so I’m not sure.
April 9, 2013 8:19 pm at 8:19 pm #944890Baruch dayan ha’emes.
Indeed a great loss for all of us. 🙁
April 9, 2013 9:54 pm at 9:54 pm #944891MammeleParticipantThe other thread mentioned the name as Shpringer, so what’s going on? And how well known was he really if his name was wrong, at least someplace?
April 9, 2013 9:57 pm at 9:57 pm #944892NechomahParticipantNo shiva during Pesach itself, but it starts right after YT is over and should last the full 7 days, but by now I think it is over.
BD”E. We should only hear besuros tovos.
April 9, 2013 10:04 pm at 10:04 pm #944893HealthParticipantMammele -“The other thread mentioned the name as Shpringer, so what’s going on?”
No, this thread is correct. The other thread s/o got confused because of more than one Levaya in Crown Heights.
It’s funny R’ Springer Z’tl – I knew personally and this I. Schier z’l I knew from the CR -we had similar outlooks in certain topics.
April 9, 2013 10:08 pm at 10:08 pm #944894acersParticipantMammele: Shpringer was another unrelated niftar. The confusion was due to the same first name, last initial, also a Lubavitcher who was niftar the same day as our Itzik’s levaya.
April 9, 2013 10:35 pm at 10:35 pm #944895Oh Shreck!ParticipantA sobering thought.
He was lucky. I don’t recall seeing any run-in from him. (I don’t keep track of posters, it just appears so.) I don’t recall any nasty comment from him towards anyone, requiring a mechilah on his part. ??? ?? ???? ????? ?????, if one does wrong / hurt another fellow here (which I see countless times) he should be quick to apologize, to be beg mechillah. ??? ??? ??? ???? ?????. One never knows…
