Is there some kind of muzzle you can put on them to keep them from putting everything in their mouths?
April 5, 2016 3:36 am at 3:36 am #1196075The QueenParticipantThe onus is on the parents to keep their baby safe. Raising children is not a walk in the park.
April 5, 2016 6:16 am at 6:16 am #1196076Little FroggieParticipantThere’s a concept known as baby-proofing.
Another idea is supervision. And Tefillah!!
Hatzlacha (and belated mazel tov)
NOTE to all with little, curious cuties; be especially careful now, at this time during the Pesach cleaning season, with all cleaning agents and detergents. Some are REALLY DANGEROUS!!!
(done without any feelings of tochacha or self-righteousness)

Yes there is, it’s a new invention called……
The pacifier!

Your baby is doing exactly what a baby should be doing: exploring his/her world, learning about it, building up the baby brain. It’s a good thing! And Little Froggie has the right idea. Dedicate a space in your house where fragile and dangerous items are well out of reach, stairs and doorways are gated off, and put some entertaining stuff in there (including yourself). That way, your baby can explore, and you can enjoy it with him/her rather than spending the whole time stressed out and taking items away.
April 5, 2016 1:25 pm at 1:25 pm #1196079akupermaParticipantIf Ha-Shem wanted babies to be able to care for themselves, he would have designed things so that women would lay eggs and leave (as turtles do), and babies would be born with sufficient intelligence to carry on by themselves (just as baby turtles are born with sufficient intelligence to carry them through turtlehood).
It should be noted that many secular scientists have decided that it is a good thing for babies to be born a bit dumb since it allows time for the parents to educate them (and of course, the scientists never give Ha-Shem credit for this feature).

What’s wrong with that? The job of the caregiver is to make sure it’s something safe to put in. That’s why a lot of toys have a label – “Not for children under 3”!
April 5, 2016 3:53 pm at 3:53 pm #1196081👑RebYidd23ParticipantBabies need at least two people watching them at a time. They can’t spend all their time at home. They don’t ask their caregiver before putting something in their mouths.

Why?
They can’t spend all their time at home.
Carriers, strollers … ?
They don’t ask their caregiver before putting something in their mouths.
Ok?

December 2, 2016 5:17 am at 5:17 am #1196085👑RebYidd23ParticipantI don’t have a baby. I was talking about someone else’s. I didn’t notice that people assumed it was mine.

Babies are a danger to themselves; that’s why any normal adult is considered competent enough to have one.
Most adults aren’t wont to swallow mothballs.
