As soon as my computer starts I get this:
Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files “c:documents and settingsall users application dataAdobeAdobe pdf Settings*.joboptions”
Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?
yes, no
How do I get rid of it without wrecking something else? Otherwise, computer seems to be working fine.

A Google search on your error message brings up this thread:

It seems several people had the same issue and were able to solve it using the advice provided by the second poster on the thread.
==============================
I strongly suggest that people having computer issues use Google to research possible solutions.
I’m not a PC pro, but I work on my own PCs and help others as well.
Google is my primary knowledge base for unfamiliar problems.
I know computer and network professionals who also turn to Google for solutions when encountering new problems.

ZeesKite, Ive done that many times. It reappears.
Icot, I did that as well, I googled before posting here for advice. I havent the faintest idea how to even begin accessing the files they mention.

Sorry, this isn’t something I’m familiar with.
The various solutions that come up when searching for this error all seem to address Adobe Writer or other Adobe products besides the free reader.
I’m afraid I can’t help here 🙁
February 15, 2011 3:27 am at 3:27 am #740667ItcheSrulikMemberTry uninstalling and downloading Reader again.
February 15, 2011 5:28 am at 5:28 am #740668HaLeiViParticipantCheck the scheduler. Sometimes they set it to run a certain file.
If that doesn’t help, which it probably won’t, go to Start, Run. Type “msconfig”. You should have a dialog box pop up. Go to the tag labeled Services. There you should see a long list of programs that are running constantly on your computer. Look for an entry that says Adobe something, and uncheck its box.
Please advise if this helped.
