Mod 80, I just spilled my coffee all over my desk, I’m laughing so hard! I also didn’t realize we were allowed to divulge so much information! I’m still getting used to all the rules around here. And I would never take the time to write such a long post like yours lest another mod click “aprove” or “delete” before me 🙂

Maybe we should open a new thread for moderators to converse with each other.
I usually just yell over the top of the wall… something like “rookie, please bring me some more coffee… and don’t spill it this time.
And I usually answer: “Get it yourself, grouch”………(in a whisper of course)…80
So THAT’s what the new mods do all day. Service the SR mod’s. Pretty impressive job to say the least.
Another thing they sometimes do is delete all future posts from certain posters…80

being as we have some new moderators here since this thread opened, I will periodically* bring old questions alive again to give the new moderators a chance to answer. Tonight we will start with the first question however, it will not be in the order originally asked. Additionally, if the new mods want to dig up old questions to answer, feel free to do so…

Why is it that mods don’t usually post their opinions on the issues we discuss? Is it because you post on regular screen names, or because you have tremendous self control?

Ok, ok, I’ll answer both questions:
1) I read the posts I moderate. When I can’t be around to moderate I try to catch up on what I’ve missed by reading whats up in the CR already, but to tell you the truth, I get my kicks by reading the deleted posts 😉
2) I don’t post my opinion on issues because as a moderator I represent YW, and not myself. I do express my opinions using my regular screen name, but that isn’t too often either. Or maybe I should say, not as often as I should, since every word I write is a benefit to all those who read it 😀

We are above such petty matters, besides when you are actually Moderating, you must keep all your focus strictly on The Board. We are kind of like air traffic controllers, or policemen during an arrest. Only more highly trained.
Some moderators have screen names, some don’t. I don’t.

well, sort of…not exactly…unfortunately my opinion has changed recently.
I doubt if 58 will be able to answer these questions in the near future. I heard he just got recruited to give a course in Special Operations Moderator Training, in Aruba. The Navy Seals requested him specifically. I heard he rescued a group of them a few years back in CLASSIFIED.
