Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
But mods are better than the former two!
NOW WILL YOU POST MY POSTS!??! 🙂 🙂 🙂
(or at least tell me where they’re going and if you got them)
look at the comment for the previous post on the thread. it applies to you too
June 24, 2009 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #1048834bein_hasdorimParticipantI thought they were ok & funny, funny is only one criteria, appropriateness and being as least somewhat believable are other factors

mods – why the evasive, jokey answers to normal questions? All questions are reviewed by the core moderation team as per the guidelines in the moderator handbook (starting on the bottom of page 16 and continues thru the top ~1/3 of page 18) a consensus of opinion is etablished and the answer is posted. if the answer ends up being either evasive or jokey, it may or may not have been the original intent of the panel. and can’t you just give a straight answer to a poor, powerless cr denizen? simply speaking, straight answers require too much thinking
June 26, 2009 2:46 am at 2:46 am #1048838an open bookParticipanti guess i was kind of asking for it there :/ yes, you were. and the panel did not want to disappoint you.
but what about emails(, pumpkin)? do those go through the panel too? emails are answered by the individual moderator who has received the email. please note: we do reserve the right to not answer all emails received {pumpkin?}
June 26, 2009 3:07 am at 3:07 am #1048839an open bookParticipantwell, sorry, but you didn’t sign with your number. so i have no clue who i’m talking to here. for all i know, it is 81.
June 26, 2009 3:11 am at 3:11 am #1048840d aMembermods, are you able to read a post WHILE I’m in middle of writing it???
The reason I ask,is because, I was trying to start a new topic and after 1 split second I got a message that my topic was closed. It was not possible for anyone (not even the super, top notch YWCR moderators to read my message it that short of a time. (BTW this happened at least 3 times!!!). Please explain . . . did you put in a title and choose a section?
June 26, 2009 3:27 am at 3:27 am #1048841an open bookParticipantwait a second – was that a straightforward & helpful answer? at your service! you do this on purpose just to tease me, right? maybe
June 26, 2009 4:10 pm at 4:10 pm #1048843areivimzehlazehParticipantaob- are you sure you have the correct email address for mod81?
June 26, 2009 6:22 pm at 6:22 pm #1048844an open bookParticipantareivim, no i think some ***** is playing tricks on me. why?
email addresses for the moderators are at the bottom of the following thread:
The moderator email address is moderator##@theyeshivaworld.com (fill in the moderator number in place of ##).
June 26, 2009 6:28 pm at 6:28 pm #1048845an open bookParticipantcan someone please help me out here?
June 29, 2009 6:59 pm at 6:59 pm #1048848areivimzehlazehParticipantTo aob and other young CR members:
You’ve heard this before, but please take a minute for a refresher course.
Some general advice for when you correspond via internet and email: you can never be too careful with strangers
Regarding an email address you are not familiar with (that contacts you first):
– do not respond at all
– do not even respond “who is this” or the like
– do not use any links in the email message
– do not contact any other contacts provided by that unfamiliar address, EVEN IF IT/THEY SOUND SECURE OR FAMILIAR
– do not dial any phone #’s provided in the message
– if the message seems threatening in any way or if applicable to the situation, forward the email to an authority figure
Regarding anonymous contacts online:
– you should not be contacting each other directly (via phone, email etc.)- YOU NEVER KNOW WHO THE OTHER PARTY IS, no matter how comfortable you become with the person and especially no matter how much the person reassures you it’s ok. This is just an upgraded, spruced up tactic of the age old kidnapper offering candy…
Keep in mind that above rules are not over-reacting. They’re there to keep you safe and a reminder to only use the internet for good and safe purposes.
Sorry for the dreaded speech.
~ areivim, a concerned CR member

June 30, 2009 12:15 am at 12:15 am #1048850d aMemberDear mods, can you see when a member is on the CR? I received complaints for saying maybe to serious questions, so your question I will answer as follows perhaps!
June 30, 2009 12:35 am at 12:35 am #1048851kapustaParticipantperhaps our mod has a sense of humor… 😉 PERHAPS???
June 30, 2009 12:42 am at 12:42 am #1048852d aMembercome on mods, you can come up with something better then PERHAPS Conceivably
June 30, 2009 4:26 am at 4:26 am #1048853anonymisssParticipantareivim, thanx for the important reminder!

June 30, 2009 3:25 pm at 3:25 pm #1048855mepalMemberda, they only know if a member is in the CR if the member explicitly states so in the ‘Post here so we know you’re in the CR’ thread.
June 30, 2009 4:32 pm at 4:32 pm #1048856jewishfeminist02MemberHow about POSSIBLY? 🙂 imaginably
June 30, 2009 6:35 pm at 6:35 pm #1048857AZParticipantTo the almighty mods, FINALLY! someone knows how to address the moderation panel correctly!
Regarding thread dedicate to the age gap discussion.
367 posts in 2 weeks. Clearly the most popular thread in he YW CR. it could go to 10,000 posts with you and your alter ego playing the same tune. state your case. listen to the other side – done! OK, maybe a rebuttal, but 400 posts of repetition is a bit much.
The moderators have made it clear they don’t like the thread. Well one way is to shut it down, even though the members clearly use the thread properly. Your call. It’s a shame that you no longer want to be part of the solution.
We don’t take kindly to your attacks like that, and that wasn’t your first towards us. Saying that we are not part of “THE” solution because we do not do what you want when you want is extremely egotistical of you, to say the least.
For my point I am very thankful for the opportunity to have generated so much awareness on the topic. …and we appreciate your expression of Hakoras Hatov to the YWN-Coffee Room and us moderators for publishing your opinion

July 26, 2009 7:04 pm at 7:04 pm #1048876GoldieLoxxMemberthis is sooo coooool that we got all these new mods here
will you tell us when an older 1 retires or do we gotta figure that one out on our own?? you guess is as good as ours
and when do i get to become a mod?? 72 i thought you told me i had a chance!! cmon you gotta cater to the yung folks here 2!!! forgive me for taking so long to respond. As one of the older mods on the boards, I usually have to wait for one of the Jr-72s to be around to interpret what you posted into a more coherent form of English. In the meantime, I suggest that you review the rules thread for and specifically section 2 subsection 5.
July 28, 2009 8:19 pm at 8:19 pm #1048877YW Moderator-72ParticipantThe following was a question posed in a wrong thread
by HidingUnderCover
Question for you mod- Are all the mods male? please refrain from asking personal questions about the moderators Another question- Do all mods become mods because they have pull, like they are close friends of the original, top-mods? Hm….maybe…
July 28, 2009 8:39 pm at 8:39 pm #1048878GoldieLoxxMemberi feel so so special to have my own persinal mod!! how old is my persinal mod?? male or female?? are they known as ywmoderatorgoldie??

July 28, 2009 10:09 pm at 10:09 pm #1048880HidingUnderCoverMemberWhy do we have to refer to the mods by number?
How do you keep moderators round the clock?
July 28, 2009 10:16 pm at 10:16 pm #1048881YW Moderator-80MemberWe are very proud of our numbers. They were earned with sweat, long nights and arduous studying for the Moderator Boards.
We all live in The YW Moderator Hall. The location is classified. We work in shifts.
July 29, 2009 1:47 am at 1:47 am #1048882kapustaParticipant…and they serve kapusta. when do I get to come for the free kapusta? (I’ll let you leave it outside the front door to maintain y/our anonymity. 😉 )
the only cabbage we serve is either shredded into coleslaw, health salad or sour kraut. once in awhile, it the Editor is in a generous mood he sends in some stuffed cabbage!
July 29, 2009 9:21 pm at 9:21 pm #1048883JaxMemberSo when’s the big Mod Summer Convention is the undisclosed secret location(YWN HQ’s in Yerusalayim)?! some week after this week and this time I am getting to the dinner table first to get the serving utensils
July 29, 2009 9:27 pm at 9:27 pm #1048884JaxMembermod: make sure the other mods take their servings from the kitchen before hand! if they want to come to the dinner table with me, they take their chances…
July 29, 2009 9:38 pm at 9:38 pm #1048885JaxMembermod: just by knowing you they’re taking their chances! 😉
here comes another one for the pet peeve thread… users who think that they are funnier than the mods…
July 31, 2009 8:09 pm at 8:09 pm #1048886YW Moderator-80MemberAugust 3, 2009 2:11 pm at 2:11 pm #1048887mepalMemberSo are the mods going on vacation or, will you have backup during your meeting-in-disclosed-location-in-Yerushalayim? I’ve been seeing that you got lots of ‘offers’ for substitutes! the new mods have to work in shifts around the clock while us more seasoned veterans get to lounge by the pool, I mean get to iron out new CR policy
August 3, 2009 3:01 pm at 3:01 pm #1048888mepalMemberOh poor them. I hope they were forewarned ;(. they are now
Sooo, you’re dropping hints there. There seems to be a pool in this disclosed-location-in-Yerushalayim-for-senior-moderator-meetings. Oh, and you iron while your at it 😉
August 3, 2009 5:04 pm at 5:04 pm #1048889mepalMemberGood. I’m glad I brought this up, then.
August 3, 2009 10:58 pm at 10:58 pm #1048890YW Moderator-80Member“Why are there sometimes long times when no new posts appear?”
This was a serious question asked earlier, more than once, and really wasn’t answered properly by the senior mods. That’s for 3 reasons, the senior mods:
1. are always looking for an excuse to write something “funny”. the quotes just bought you the overnight shift at the convention
2. don’t like to reveal the secrets behind the scenes.
3. Sometimes they are just plain grumpy.
Here is what really happens:
Here we are in Moderation Headquarters, in the Central Moderation Room. Pacing back and forth. It’s hot in there. The air conditioning is broken again. The sweat drips into the styrofoam cup of strong black coffee. Nervously biting our nails, 26 and I are anxious. It’s been over 2 hours with no action. We are like racehorses waiting for the gates to open. All of a sudden we hear it, the siren! The lights above the board begin to blink. First yellow, then orange, we are sure that a fresh post is coming down the line, finally GREEN. We both put down our coffee, spilling some on the previously white carpet and rush to the controls, 26 getting there a split second ahead of me…and then **CLASSIFED** Moderator Security
Well you get the picture, many times it is the lack of anyone posting that causes the delay.
