Why is Artscroll not releasing the smaller size of their Midrash Rabbah?
The book are huge and heavy. We cannot afford the price in Australia, or carrying around such a heavy book.
They resized the Midrash Megillah so what factors are delaying this?
Why did they make them the size of their big gemara books to begin with?
Why couldn’t they have been published normal size to begin with?
January 29, 2017 5:01 am at 5:01 am #1214173iacisrmmaParticipantI am not sure if anyone in the CR is qualified to comment on ArtScroll’s marketing strategy. Did you contact ArtScroll and ask them?
January 29, 2017 5:30 am at 5:30 am #1214174LightbriteParticipantOnline I see that they sell a compact size.
In the US, the full 5 volume set is $130.49. Sending internationally has to go through customs. Like you said, it’s another great expense. Hmmm.
Good question. Did you try asking them? Sounds like they’re open to your feedback.

I’d just like to know roughly when the smaller Midrash Rabbah can be expected to be published. I am eager to learn the Midrash. I don’t know why they would have made them big heavy Talmud Bavli size to begin with…

It’s on their website.

February 1, 2017 7:35 pm at 7:35 pm #1214179theprof1ParticipantALMOST ALL THE GEDOLEI YISROEL HAVE GIVEN STRONG APPROVALS FOR WHAT ARTSCROLL HAS ACCOMPLISHED. THEY HAVE OPENED UP SO MANY AREAS OF THE TORAH THAT WERE VIRTUALLY CLOSED TO THE MAJORITY OF KLAL YISROEL.
February 3, 2017 6:35 am at 6:35 am #1214180ExcellenceParticipantSays who, Time for Truth? What a load of cupcake mix. True, those of understanding know the Midrash is more than it seems. But there is nothing errorenous with translating that. Perhaps a book like Walking in Fire should not have been published… Midrash? It is the fireplace of the Jewish soul.

If you desire to fall for that,so be it..
The omissions are more glaring always than haskomos

With all the much trumpeted benefits of Artscroll And their Imitators, the world should be divided between BA and AA
Before Artscroll
After Artscroll
The ’80s and early ’90s will go down as the Interregnum
