Does anyone know anyone in London (U.K.) who could maybe forward this to police? I’m not kidding. Someone has hacked a friends’ email account saying they’re stranded in London and I KNOW they’re not.
Location:North Acton Business Park, Wales Farm…… Road London W3 6RS United Kingdom
Amount: $2,250
“The hotel manager won’t let us leave until we settle the hotel bills. You can speak with him through this number +447024078842 his name is Larry.”
I sent her a message telling her to change her password and “she” wrote back saying “I am glad to hear back from you. This is really me, I didn’t get hacked at all. I have gone to the Us consulate here, they are not really helping out issues at all since the police asked me to wait for 2 weeks to carry out investigations. I am really freaked out at the moment.”
I asked “her” for her kids’ names. Response: “I will still not answer to the question you asked me because i cant imagine you asking me what you already know and you know too well that no one will def log on to my private email.”
Then I wrote “OK, well, you stay right there and don’t go anywhere.” And left her a message at home that she’s been hacked.

Just ignore it. Call your friend on the telephone and work it out directly. Its an email scam to get you to wire money somewhere. dotn respond and delete it.

Let’s say someone that gets this email is not in the coffee room to see what you wrote, and actually wires money to the London? I think that a better solution would be to investigate and eventually arrest the guy! By the way, I know at least one person that this happened to. ME!!! I got this email, but it just didn’t sound like the real owner of the email address based on the way it was written so we alerted the real owner of the email address and he closed it down because he realized that it was hacked!

You MUST immediately contact everyone on your personal contacts list via any possible means and alert them that your email has been hacked and the message is fraudlent.
Good-hearted people who try to “rescue” their friends have lost thousands of dollars to scammers like this.
