I’m interested in hearing everyone two cents on this matter, how do you think is the best free way to get your name out there? Whether with a store, a new buisness you are starting, or just wanting people to know that you do ______ (insert money making thing here- tutoring, writing, etc.)
I’m a big writer, and I write for a few places here and there under a pen name. (No it’s not Shopping613). I really want to get my name out there, or even to get people coming to the different websites and projects I have worked on.
I’d say my main audience is teenagers. I know social media is a great way, but how do you get the foundation of followers?
Does anyone have anything to share?

August 16, 2016 6:38 pm at 6:38 pm #1166808zahavasdadParticipantGoogle Pay per Click
August 16, 2016 6:53 pm at 6:53 pm #1166809☕️coffee addictParticipantRaffle off your new book? (Only to followers though) and announce it in someone else’s post?
August 16, 2016 6:59 pm at 6:59 pm #1166810Ex-CTLawyerParticipantGet friends to like and share your posts on social media. Most important is to comment as it pushed posts to the top of a page. A like will not do so. Onec you name is regularly being liked on social media, it will show in Google searches.

August 16, 2016 7:35 pm at 7:35 pm #1166812Shopping613 🌠ParticipantThe thing is my friend’s don’t have social media, and it’s under a pen name so I ask people I know to promote it….
August 17, 2016 12:02 am at 12:02 am #1166813Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantI have the same problem. I also recently started a business and am trying to figure out how to get my name out. I started by speaking to friends. In my case, that made sense since my “product” is something relevant to my friends. Also, it’s the type of thing that it’s hard to get someone interested in if they never heard of me. I have been getting a lot of business from friends but would like to expand eventually.
Right now I am too busy trying to make my product good to have time to figure out how to advertise, but I really do need more business.
In my case, I am trying to slowly build up a name for myself, so that I can get my name out, but it’s not going as fast as I want it to, so I wish I could find a way to do it.
August 17, 2016 12:04 am at 12:04 am #1166814Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantYou can try the Frum email lists/ yahoo groups. They are free, so they are a good way to advertise. There are a lot of them, since many communities have them.
August 17, 2016 1:10 am at 1:10 am #1166815☕️coffee addictParticipantLlimod,
You have to pay to post a business in a yahoo group
August 17, 2016 1:25 am at 1:25 am #1166817Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantCoffee addict – I used to post for free. But it’s possible that it depends on the type of business or that things have changed. In any case, every email list has their own rules so it’s kidai to check it out.
August 17, 2016 10:42 am at 10:42 am #1166818Shopping613 🌠ParticipantAnd how do you find out about these groups? Their names?
August 17, 2016 12:53 pm at 12:53 pm #1166819Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantif you go to yahoo groups you can probably find them. There are at least one or two for Beit Shemesh/Ramat Beit Shemesh. You can try googling Ramat Beit Shemesh yahoo groups. I don’t know if you have to live in Beit Shemesh in order to become a member. It could be you don’t, and if you do, maybe you could find someone to post for you.
There’s also one in Kew Gardens Hill (try googling KGHshuls yahoo groups), and one in the FiveTowns, one in Teaneck, I think one in Monsey, one in Neve Yaakov.
August 17, 2016 12:55 pm at 12:55 pm #1166820Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantShopping – let me know if you are able to find them and post on them.
August 17, 2016 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm #1166821Shopping613 🌠ParticipantI will bezras Hashem.
August 18, 2016 1:47 am at 1:47 am #1166822gofishMemberYou can join online forums where your target audience hangs out, join in the conversations and become a liked member, and mention your websites where helpful and appropriate. This takes time to build up though.
You can also try getting picked up with someone big on social media who has a similar audience by following them, commenting, sharing their content, emailing them to tell them how much you appreciate their work, and then once you build a connection, introducing them to your websites which they might feature.
You can also try a promotion exchange – connect with similar websites where the people you want to come to your website are looking, and do a blog tour.
August 18, 2016 9:08 am at 9:08 am #1166823Shopping613 🌠ParticipantThat all sounds good, and I know those things-but where in the world do frum teenage girls go online?!
What social media are they on? What groups are there? Gosh I feel so stupid. My target audience is my own age, yet I have no idea where to find them lol.
August 18, 2016 1:31 pm at 1:31 pm #1166824🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantShopping – I really have no idea what you are actually talking about but if you are trying to get teens who don’t use internet or media to join your blogs/websites/writings online I hope you will reconsider.
Unless you were talking about online advertising to girls who aren’t online to tell them about real life stuff.
August 18, 2016 1:53 pm at 1:53 pm #1166825Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantSyag has a really good point! For that matter, you should be careful yourself about joining social media….
August 18, 2016 2:29 pm at 2:29 pm #1166826Mashiach AgentMemberAnyone maybe can suggest him with a affordable and professional SEO company for website internet advertising? Which company would you suggest? And why?
August 18, 2016 5:22 pm at 5:22 pm #1166827Shopping613 🌠ParticipantNo I’m talking about girls whom are already online. If you are already online, why not read some kosher stuff? That’s my thinking.
I just don’t know where to find people like me, frum teenage girls that are online.
August 18, 2016 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm #1166828🍫Syag LchochmaParticipant“No I’m talking about girls whom are already online. If you are already online, why not read some kosher stuff? “
I feel like crying
August 18, 2016 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm #1166829I. M. ShluffinParticipantIf it’s just your name you want to get around, it’s easy to do that – just commit some atrocity and get national press coverage for it. Bad publicity is still publicity.
But seriously, if you do publish a book or even article, or have done so, perhaps you can get someone to review it in a highly circulated magazine or newspaper. When people read that and like it, they may want to see what else you have to offer.
August 18, 2016 7:24 pm at 7:24 pm #1166830Shopping613 🌠ParticipantSyag, why do you feel like crying?
It’s hard I. M. I’m trying. I know people in the USA and I know they have social media, but how to connect to all them is the question.
