    hi

    heard from people and saw in jerusoguide a couple of weeks ago about a new heimishe oilam moving to ramat shlomo

    has anyone heard of this? and what part of ramat shlomo

    does anyone know what the oilamis like(where they daven, where they send, what countries there from, etc…)

    and what about the prices for a 3 bedroom dirah?

    You can get a fairly wide range of apartment listings for both rentals and purchases at yad2.co.il

    I don’t know anything about Ramat Shlomo but the nicer 3 BR units in some of the other newer communities are usually at least 6,000-7000 NIS

    Yes! They are a very nice group of people
    Most of them are teeneh bagels
    I would say 25% of them are from New Brunswick
    The rest I’m not sure…..

    There are tons of Chassidishe families already there and with all of the building and nowhere to go it’s getting more Chassidish. The Kopishnitzer Rebbes oldest son lives there.

    when you say tuneh beigels what do you mean, becouse the last thing you will call me is a tune baigel, i am chasidish and serious but not heavy (where i am from in london, we are considered heimish/chasidish) i daven in nachlas akiva (ganei geulah) and i wouldnt call that oilam in any way chilled, is there any such kind of oilam there? i have heared people speaking about it where i daven, heared that a couple of people are moving/have moved there, but dont know them personaly

    @BaltimoreMaven

    thanks

    i know there is a lot of chasidish oilam, but are they chutznik or are they Israeli?

    i am looking for a chasidish chutznik oilam, like where i live in ganei geulah (obviously it dosent need to be that size) but i would prefer if there is already 20-30 families

    Can you explain to us what the practical difference between a Chasidish chutznik oilem is from a Chasidish Eretz Yisroel’dika oilem? They both speak Yiddish. What else are you concerned with?

    @ujm

    looks like you are totally clueless in terms of chassidim

    israeli chasidish and chutznik heimish/chasidish are the most opposites that you can find

    israeli chasidish speak more ivrit than yiddish(especially the women) there style is totaly different to my style

    chutznik chasidish (or at least the ones who live in rommema) speak english/yiddish, and are generally alot more chutznik than yeshivish chutznik, its not a coincidence that shamgar is in our neighborhood

    again i really like israelis, and i have quite a few israeli chasidish friends, but they are not my style in any way

    @s1234567890 you didn’t mention a particular snif of Chassidim originally. My observation is that chutznik Chassidim mix with Israelis. I’m unaware of any neighborhood that is even mostly chutznik Chassidim. Maybe in Beit Shemesh. What’s wrong with Romema? Did you try Kaduri? Or the new Televizia buildings?

    The oilam is slowly building up

    it is way way cheaper than ganei ge’ula

    there are all types, serious, less so. litvish, chassidish, heimish, british

    try Rabbi Segal

    Sorry, don’t know if we can publish his number

    @baltimoreMaven

    thanks

    as i mentioned, i currently live in ganei geulah which is in romema which is basically exclusively chutznik chasidish, i am verry happy here, but its very very expensive, like 12,000 NIS – 13,000 NIS for a 3 bedroom dirah, and you asked about across the road in kaduri and thats even more expensive (like 15,000 NIS+), and televisia is not yet built, but is probably going to be even more expensive

    regarding the chasisish oilam, the israelis and chutznikim are as far apart as it comes(unless you belong to a tight knit community like Belz or in some cases Ger), they dont daven in the same shuls, they dont even send to the same moisdos (the chasidish chutznikim have a few of there own moisdos, and the number of moisdos is growing all the time), my 2 year old son is not yet up to that stage, but i know most my neighbors, friends, and family send to these moisdos, but i dont know that much about them, some send there boys to israeli chasidish moisdos, but most of the people in these chedarim are chutznikim

    thanks anyway for your help, i really appreciate your kind advice, i was just explaining what our community is like, and i really like Israelis, but we are very different by type

    also, thanks to everyone who had advice to offer

    i am just a bit stuck(as are many in our neighborhood) with the extremely high prices, see the ami magazine of last week for more details, i am looking for somewhere new to move with a few other people who are also not coping with the current prices, and it would be easier to convince people to join me if there is already an oilam there, and maybe also a shul

    Whatever answers you get here, its most helpful if you visit ramat shlomo and get a feel for the oilam yourself.

    Seriously? People pay that much in rent? You can move to Immanuel and live much cheaper. B”H we bought several years ago, and a mortgage is much less than what you’re paying in rent.

    There is a certain Litvishe RoshKollel in Yerushalayim that is encouraging his avreichim to group buy on Toledano and BenTov Streets in the neighborhood Ramat Shlomo. The population is very mixed types of people you have chassidesh, litvish, charedi-light, sfardi, … really all types.

    How do these neighborhoods compare to Meah Shearim (in terms of Yiddishkeit, demographics, cost, amenities, etc.)?
