Rav Yaakov Shapiro
Is that the same Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro of Frumteens?
The Wolf
June 12, 2017 11:14 pm at 11:14 pm #1294737JosephParticipantThe Rav Yaakov Shapiro of frumteens was highly commended by the Orthodox Union Magazine, Jewish Action, in a lengthy article focusing on his kiruv work rescuing teens at risk, and literally saving their lives, as the OU documented in their article.
June 13, 2017 8:14 am at 8:14 am #1294793DaMosheParticipantSo besides the Satmar chassidim that made up 98% of the crowd, we have a rasha from Neturei Karta, and a person who continues to show disrespect to the undisputed Gadol HaDor of the previous generation, R’ Moshe Feinstein zt”l, on a daily basis.
Definitely a great crowd!June 13, 2017 8:31 am at 8:31 am #1294797besimchahParticipantYou’re a whole bunch of sore-losers you can’t fargin that they actually had a successful mamid at Barclays Center!!!! Instead of just keeping quiet about the undercover that has been going on the last little while, these people are doing tzum zach!!! They have nothing to be ashamed of!!! The other party, has a lot more to be embarrassed of……
June 13, 2017 9:08 am at 9:08 am #1294801DaMosheParticipantbesimchah: There are also “successful” neo-Nazi marches. A large crowd doesn’t mean the cause is good.
June 13, 2017 9:09 am at 9:09 am #1294804JosephParticipantIf the naysayers are accurate that this was 98% Satmar, and half of Satmar only participated, that means 20,000 men from Satmar’s New York region attended (there was additional seating on the floor in addition to the regular stadium seating.) If both Satmar’s attended, that would have made it 40,000 local Satmar men. Since the young boys and elderly men didn’t attend, that’s another, say, 35,000 Satmar Chasidim from the New York area Chasidim. Add the 75,000 Satmar women who didn’t attend (it was men only) and we’re talking about 150,000 Satmar Chasidim just in the New York area. Wow, they’re big! Add Satmar in the rest of the US, Canada, Europe and Israel, and you’re at 300,000. And assuming even in New York there were probably many young Satmar men who couldn’t attend the rally due to being busy, at work, not well, etc., it’s probably even bigger.
June 13, 2017 10:46 am at 10:46 am #1294918ShualiParticipant@Kotlorism: You write, “This was an attempted lynching of the Gadol Hador which boruch hashem failed miserably.”
This was not intended as a lynching. The machlokes how to respond to this eis tzarah l’Yaakov is no different than any machlokes Beis Shamai and Beis Hillel, Rav and Shmuel, Abbye and Rava.June 13, 2017 10:47 am at 10:47 am #1294907GadolhadorahParticipantIf a certain Satmar troll wishes to engage in Trumplike exaggerations about these and similar events, you only feed that mentality by engaging in rational dialogue. The reality is whatever he says it is at the moment; a gadol hador (or dorah) is whomever he decides and any other rabbonim are the B or C team….Its ok to denigrate gaolei yisroel from a prior generation since their “fake paskins” don’t comport with his assertions…
June 13, 2017 11:01 am at 11:01 am #1294955zahavasdadParticipantThey did not get 20,000. The Barlcays only holds about 17,000 unless you have seating on the floor, which they did not (Look at the pictures)
June 13, 2017 12:17 pm at 12:17 pm #1295047DaMosheParticipantIn 2015, RAS resigned from the Moetzes because it was getting involved in a dispute in Israel. He felt strongly that Agudas Yisroel of America shouldn’t be involved in Israeli matters. It was only after a compromise was reached that he withdrew his resignation.
I guess he changed his mind about getting involved in Israeli matters.
June 13, 2017 12:19 pm at 12:19 pm #1295048GadolhadorahParticipantActually, there were well over 40,000…again, these lies by the fake media….there were at least 2 kollel yungerleit squeezed into each seat and for the less shartke ones, 3 bochurim in one seat….ordinary, real world metrics cannot be applied to Joesph’s alternative reality. If you have any doubts, just look at the photos of the event (with 3 D glasses to see the otherwise invisible yungerleit in each seat)
June 13, 2017 12:55 pm at 12:55 pm #1295060oyyoyyoyParticipant“This was an attempted lynching of the Gadol Hador.”
haha quit while youre ahead, youre losing credibility by the post
June 13, 2017 12:56 pm at 12:56 pm #1295059JosephParticipantEven 19,000 (the stadium capacity) men-only is a huge achievement. It is extremely infrequent to find so many of Acheinu Bnei Yisroel gathered together in one venue at one time, especially on such short notice. And for what? To help our brethren thousands of miles away and to listen to Daas Torah. Where else do you have a sellout stadium of 20,000 packed to the brim? (There was some additional seating on the floor.)
June 13, 2017 12:59 pm at 12:59 pm #1295069KotlorismParticipantAnother Joseph bold faced LIE.
Here is the scanner from Barclay’s at the end of the Asifa. It’s simply unreal how Joseph can continue to shove packs of lies down our throats and when confronted he ignores them.
June 13, 2017 1:05 pm at 1:05 pm #1295073KotlorismParticipantBest story of the day is the Sefardi “Rosh Yeshiva who cried about 4 of his ‘Talmidim” who were drafted to the Army….
Turns out….
He isn’t a Rosh Yeshiva, but more like a dorm counselor, and there have never been such names of Talmidim in this yeshiva nor did the IDF ever have such names in their database.
That’s why this stunt-man was fired from his position today.Think about it. There are 6,000 people in the Mir. 4 thousand are Israelis. Chevron yeshiva has 1,200. All Israelis. Not ONE bochur was ever drafted, nor does anyone know of anyone ever drafted. This is a pack of lies that was started to bash the Gadol hador. Nothing more and nothing less. Sad that Joseph’s Rosh yeshiva drank this cool aid after being spoon fed it by the person who ran off to L.A. after instigating this entire fiasco.
Churban and Bizayon hatorah mammish.

June 13, 2017 1:36 pm at 1:36 pm #1295085JosephParticipantIt sure looked like a sold out seating to the naked eye, once the event was underway. Even if the above scan is accurate and from this event, “only” 14,000+ Acheinu Bnei Yisroel coming special together is a monumental achievement.
June 13, 2017 2:14 pm at 2:14 pm #1295160GadolhadorahParticipant“Where else do you have a sellout stadium of 20,000 packed to the brim”
At a Lipa concert that was “banned” by certain “gadolim” (who later claimed their signatures were used without permission),…..at an “asifah” dedicated to trashing the internet and assuring smartphones and at a Donald Trump rally (bigley huge attendance)
June 13, 2017 2:19 pm at 2:19 pm #1295171☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI’m confused. I thought the asifa was cancelled?
June 13, 2017 2:59 pm at 2:59 pm #1295310ubiquitinParticipantRaboisai, all should be mekabel to recite the following daily:
אני מאמין באמונה שלימה שיש גזירת גיוס ואף על פי שיתמהמה עם כל זה אחכה לו בכל יום שיבא
(ובזכות שנתחזק בזה , נזכה שהגזירה תבוא במהרה, ואז נוכיח לעיני כל עם ומלואו צדקת דרכנו)June 13, 2017 3:57 pm at 3:57 pm #1295557chilliworker2Participantgolfer: i sent a message to the editor about the asifa, i also sent 114 pictures after the asifa, but it seems that the editor did not like the idea of the asifa at all…
he’s rather post 114 pictures of the belzer wedding!!!June 13, 2017 4:21 pm at 4:21 pm #1295579chilliworker2Participantkotlorism: it’s amazing how the anti-pelegs have managed to convince you that ‘there is no draft’… ‘if you sit and learn, you will not be drafted’… whata laugh! how naive!
the novominsker rebbe’s very own grandson – came to learn in america for some time. when he returned to israel – his status as a ‘learning boy’ had been rescinded (b/c he wasn’t learning in israel), and he was forcefully drafted. get your hands on the novominsker’s letter – it’s an eye opener.
i myself am personally familiar with a young newly married avreich who moved to a different town (from his yeshiva) and went to learn in a small kollel. but the law is, that if the kollel does not have at least 10 avreichim who are ‘potential’ soldiers, then no one of that kollel will get a p’tur. and so he was thrown in prison for 10 days for refusing to get drafted to the army. i know the boy!
so yes, they have managed to put you to sleep by telling you ‘everything’s fine and dandy’.
IT IS NOT!!!June 13, 2017 4:24 pm at 4:24 pm #1295624KotlorismParticipant@Chillworker2
Actually, the Novaminsker Rebbe has rescinded his letter and publicly apologized to the gedolim in Eretz Yisroel. He is a noble man. So please don’t preach to us about a letter that he based on packs of lies. the lies fed to him by the one who fled to L.A. after starting this mess.
here is his letter (published in the newspapers in Eretz Yisroel today – on on front pages):
June 13, 2017 5:30 pm at 5:30 pm #1295900oyyoyyoyParticipantid be upset if the editor didnt wanna post it for personal hashkafah reasons but it cud be that because of the nature of this site he was afraid, like people here are afraid of, others will see it and think “oh they dont like israel either” because people shoot first and ask dont bother asking later.

Joseph,
My apologies for the sarcasm. While my point was correct, there was no call for me to be sarcastic like that. It was the end of a long day and such. Not that that’s an excuse, but it is probably why it happened.
My sincere apologies.

June 14, 2017 10:52 am at 10:52 am #1296319☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNot all yeshivos and kollelim are registered, so even someone learning there full time won’t get a deferment.
June 14, 2017 2:15 pm at 2:15 pm #1296688mw13ParticipantSeems somewhat appropriate for this topic:

No worries, my friend. These things I never take to heart. And I still love you all the same.I have to say, I’m always impressed by how Joseph always just ignores all of the venomous nastiness that gets thrown his way. If people were saying those things about me, I don’t know if I’d be able to take it so calmly.
