Actually it’s Not socialism, but Communism!
Communism in theory makes e/o equal. But you see how that worked out in all the Commy countries!
Eg. – the NY Governor & NYC Mayor were willing to give tax breaks to Amazon in return for them to create jobs. This would create more NY Tax dollars.
The Commies in the Democrat party refused to even consider that proposal, because e/o has to be on an equal basis, no matter how logical the proposal was!It’s also a mega corporation that was going to get away with paying certain taxes. Who do you think pays for corporate welfare?
I sent a note to AOC to rid NY of Chase bank. If that works, Citi is next.
Crony Capitalism is not real Capitalism
I don’t agree with these anti-Amazon efforts which will ultimately be seen as a big loss for NYC and the residents of the LIC area where the new HQ would have been located. However, if something good comes out of this whole fiasco, it will be a serious reconsideration of the whole cycle of major companies seeking to push cities and states into a fierce competition to grant tax rebates for location of new job-creating facilities.
Well if you want these large companies to poir billions of dollars into a state its just fair that the state be accommodating and give them some tax breaks. Otherwise it will not be worthwhile for these companies to invest in this state.
In fact, the states should consider offering tax breaks and incentives to any company that invests and creats jobs in their state.
That just shifts the tax burden onto small businesses.
Amazon should buy the U.S. Postal Service.
The big corporations don’t pay their employees well, so there is very little income tax from them.
