English people: Please skip this post.
Mod: I disagree with that. People who don’t know what it means will google it, and will think it means “The fstrongly edited I care”. And that is something we should not want.
And yes; I wrote that word; on yeshiva world. I wrote it, because that is exactly what you caused me to read on urban dictionary, when I googled it after you allowed it up. So I’m sharing my experience with you, since you think it is ok.
This reminds me of a time when mod 80 blocked me after I posted an abbreviation which had a meaning I was unaware of. He was incorrect in assuming I had the bad intention, but he was correct that the CR is not the place for abbreviations which will be taken to mean vulgar things by many people.
You wouldn’t post a joke if half the people would understand it in a vulgar way.

+1. What I don’t understand is why they assume that people will think it means -Tongue firmly in cheek? I didn’t think that and I didn’t need to google it either to think of the American abbreviation.
February 28, 2013 8:24 pm at 8:24 pm #933521just my hapenceParticipantHealth (and, agav, PBA)- Guess what? Some of us aren’t American. I know it may seem strange to you but many people don’t actually live in America – why should we assume that my abbreviation stands for your American profanity? We haven’t heard of it just as much as you haven’t heard of our abbreviation. That’s why the mods don’t assume that people reading would think it means yours anymore than ours. They, unlike you, can appreciate the fact that Americans are but a minority of the population of planet Earth, and Americanisms but a minority of colloquialisms within the English language.
Having said that, had I known before I posted that your version existed then I wouldn’t have used the abbreviation knowing that Americans may not be aware of the English usage as opposed to the American one.
February 28, 2013 8:44 pm at 8:44 pm #933522ToiParticipantjmh- i skimmed the post until i saw something legible and answered it. with regard to your answer to health and pba- if it were an english siter and an abbreviation contained the word bloody, youd expect it to be deleted even if an american posted it.

February 28, 2013 9:56 pm at 9:56 pm #933524just my hapenceParticipantToi – Skimmed?!?! There were two lines, one of which was just the abbreviation with the clarification… And I would not expect an English site to delete a post containing the word bloody as, frankly, it isn’t considered a bad word.
February 28, 2013 10:13 pm at 10:13 pm #933525ToiParticipanttold you i was mufka. maybe i ignored it because i didnt get it? i dont really remember.

If you would have looked – you’d have seen that my OP was to the Mods. I didn’t have any Taanos on you.
Maybe American English isn’t the only English in the world, but by far it’s the main English here in the CR. Almost all the posters and Mods, even ones living in Israel, are Americans. There are very few non-American English speakers here!
