April 5, 2011 12:31 am at 12:31 am #862210ZeesKiteParticipantIt says Marbin B’Simcha. Keep on going. Program doesn’t say when to stop! {Endless Loop}

Are you only happy during Adar?
April 5, 2011 2:38 am at 2:38 am #862212☕️coffee addictParticipantZeeskite,

What??? Firstly we have learned ????? ????? ?????? ?????? ??????. And also ??”?said ?????? ???, from when ??? comes in, then ????? ?????. Until when? Until the next instruction of ?????? ?? ?????? ?????. So we’re not sad at all. Quite the contrary. We’re quite excited!
Sorry Pops. I think that was just a bit over the top.
April 5, 2011 3:19 am at 3:19 am #862215ShrekParticipanthappy is over-rated.

April 5, 2011 3:55 am at 3:55 am #862219Sister BearMemberplease do not start writing code (computer code). It’s gonna take away whatever present happiness that I have. 🙂
April 5, 2011 4:00 am at 4:00 am #862220HaLeiViParticipantSimcha is ambiguous. You must refer to a current instance of class.
April 5, 2011 4:07 am at 4:07 am #862221GumBallMemberpeople calm down! you can be happy when ever you like! and if its only the drinking thats making you happy in adar-get help!

I love instructing a computer – it’s the only one who listens to me.
April 5, 2011 4:35 am at 4:35 am #862223brotherofursParticipanti love Adar i really felt so much extra happiness this month even though i had a challenging year. I’LL MISS YOU ADAR!!:'(

Or get drinks. Drinks are cheaper.
April 5, 2011 6:17 am at 6:17 am #862225My .02MemberJust because in adar you are “Marbin” bisimcha doesn’t mean you have to be sad the rest of the year. To the contrary- in Av you are “mimatin” bisimcha- meaning you are happy the rest of the year. Of course if that doesn’t work for you, you can always try Gumball’s suggestion- and get help…from Captain Jack!

March 25, 2012 9:22 pm at 9:22 pm #862233sof davarMemberIn maseches taanis where the gemara tells us “mishenichnas adar marbin b’simcha”, rashi says that the increase in simcha is due to the miracles of purim and pesach. Clearly, the simcha does not end before pesach.
March 25, 2012 10:09 pm at 10:09 pm #862234ItcheSrulikMemberIt doesn’t say to start lessening simcha any time before Av. Calm down. 😉
March 25, 2012 10:18 pm at 10:18 pm #862235OneOfManyParticipantI don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone wink and frown at the same time. Intriguing notion.
Zeeskite: How about this:
while (month.exists()) {
simcha++
if ("Av".equals(month))
simcha--;
}😀
March 26, 2012 12:20 am at 12:20 am #862236147ParticipantIn maseches taanis where the gemara tells us “mishenichnas adar marbin b’simcha”, rashi says that the increase in simcha is due to the miracles of purim and pesach. Clearly, the simcha does not end before pesach.
And even after Pesach just 2 weeks later the radiance of Geuloh continues with Yom ha’Atzma’ut.
Then 23 days later, the radiance of Simcha & Geuloh continues with Yom Yerusholayim.
Then 1 week later, Mattan Torah:- What greater Simchah!!! Ad haYom HaZeh, everyone talks about “Cheese & Wine Party”. This is exactly what we consume on Shovu’os as we celebrate Matan Torah.
Thereafter, I agree with you popa_bar_abba, that it is all down hill with Tammuz 17 thru Tisho b’Ov.
But just 6 days later it is Hag haMecholos [A.K.A. Chamisho Ossor b’Ov], unofficial early prelude to Ellul & Joy of Tekias Shofar.
Only time we talk about bitterness is via a vis MarCheshvan, and this is basically predicated on the anti Climax after so much joy with so many Yomim Tovim in Tishri, eventhough no specific Availus in MarCheshvon.
