The exclamation mark will move the Hatzalah to the first entry in your directory. This is critical, especially when an unexpected emergency happens.
This idea is better than assigning a speed dial number to Hatzalah, since in an emergency one might forget which speed number was assigned to Hatzalah.
great idea except that if your phone is lost people usually dial the first name on the contact list(i guess its only a prob if a non-jew finds it)..it’s also the first number dialed when kids play with your phone…
no need for aaaa just put a space after the first a and it will likely come up first. on some phones using numbers can help as well. some phones put numbers and characters in the beginning others at the end so you need to experiment to make sure it works
another good idea is to list emergency contacts in this way as well. start your phone book with “1 ICE …” you should probably label it with name and relatioship so the person using it knows who they are calling.
I have a new idea. If knowing this number is so important, then, memorize it! That’s what I’ve done for years. What would you do if your phone’s memory fails?
Hello, Operator. This is Homer Simpson. Give me the number for 9-1-1.
Thanks for that tip. I just created a few ICE contacts. I can’t believe I didn’t have any because I had made them in the past. I guess when you get a new phone and transfer contacts things happen…
