1) Long posts can be tedious to moderate. Specifically, posts with over 550 words are especially difficult. We may delete such posts for no other reason than post length.
2) Links are generally not allowed. Again, we may (and most likely will) delete a post for that reason alone.

Why not make life easier for everyone by automatically allowing all posts initially, with an option for readers to flag comments which they find objectionable?
It is more difficult to erase things that people already saw then moderate going in. I prefer the moderation method.
Thank you iacisrmma. I also would not want to rely on the opinion of the posters to decide what is appropriate and what needs removing. Some of them are the ones who are posting the stuff in the first place…
And how are we meant to know if we passed the word limit?
spend a lot of time and energy writing a long post and if it disappears it was too long

If you feel like editing your posts for clarity would take more than a couple of seconds because of the length, that’s a red flag.
I’m happy to edit, I’m a professional writer. And I need a job, so how about it?
If there are more than one meanings to a word, or to the post, does it count as two?
why not split a post thats too long
