Did anyone else see this on wikipedia’s homepage today?

“… that 13th Avenue, a commercially successful Orthodox Jewish shopping district in Brooklyn, New York, has 18 banks in the space of 10 blocks?”

Wikipedia isn’t a reliable source. Anyone can edit any article and write whatever they want.

Are we supposed to find that significant in any way?

Definitely written by an anti-semite trying to prove that Jews are all rich.

I bet there are more pizza stores than banks in BP.

And I’m sure 18 is an overestimate, unless they’re counting ATMs.

torah, you must not be from boro park. On one block alone on one side of the street there are 4 banks. from 45th to 47th there are i think 8 banks. I think there might be more than 18 in an 11 short block stretch. I don’t remember exactly and will have to count again but there are many many banks on 13th ave and that is not the only place in bp to have banks.

One of the best things about Wikipedia is it allows you to change an entry.

Its perfectly legal to remove the bank refernce from a wikipedia entry

There are 8 banks on ave j between coney and east 16th and almost as many places to buy sushi. not sure that it proves anything other than this is where the retail space is for several avenues.
