Police officials on Wednesday refused to confirm or deny rumors that Yossi Olmert, a brother of the former prime minister, is also linked to fraud and bribery in the developing Holyland investigation.
The story making its way around Israel on Wednesday states that police investigators wish to send team to the United States and China, alleging some of the bribery funds given to Ehud Olmert were placed in accounts of his brother Yossi as part of efforts to cover the trail. Yossi Olmert was forced to move to the United States due to heavy debts incurred in Israel. Police believe other family members and their accounts may be involved as well.
Officials on the Olmert legal team released a statement, “We do not know what the rumors are taking about”.
