YWN Exclusive: Greenfield Condemns Negative Attacks

New York City Council candidate and education advocate, David G. Greenfield released the following statement to YWN on Monday afternoon:

“I was appalled to hear that someone was posting derogatory negative posters attacking my colleague, Joe Lazar. This is exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns hardworking New Yorkers off of voting and hurts the community as a whole. When I learned of this, I called Joe and told him how offended I was. Joe and I had a good conversation, and I know we’re both committed to ensuring that this race is a true Kiddush Hashem. Unfortunately, these posters have since continued. So I want to be crystal clear: I’m offended by the tactics and remain committed to a positive campaign that discusses and debates the issues and condemn any negative attacks that only serve to divide our community.”

  1. This is politics! What is he so surprised about? If it is was only about the issues and they are both frum yidden why would they be running against each other? Just ask daas torah and you have your answers to everything. How can one frum canditate be against another?!?!? Please explain.

  2. I hope that both Mr. Lazar and Mr. Greenfield know that posting posters on public property is illegal and the fine is $75 per poster. It’s cheaper to mail than to pay the fines.
