The daily HaMevaser reports that the number of Israelis diagnosed with swine flu has reached 600. The numbers are rapidly climbing in the chareidi sector, attributed to the strong connection between the communities in Eretz Yisrael and N. America.
This is evident in many communities including Yerushalayim, Bnei Brak, Elad, Betar Illit, Ashdod, Modi’in Illit and other chareidi population centers. B’chasdei Hashem, none of the victims are reported in serious condition, with most actually in good physical health with a light case.
In Bnei Brak there are 20 cases and one girl in Modi’in Illit who remains in isolation. There was a bit of panic in Ashdod this week after a number of cases were diagnosed in the Rova Zayin area.
