Indictments Filed Against Lynch Suspects of IDF Soldier

courthammer.jpgIndictments were handed down on Wednesday in the Haifa Magistrate’s Court against 12 Shfaram residents who will be charged with attempted murder and rioting which led to the violent death of IDF soldier Edan Natan Zada. Zada, an IDF deserter, on August 4, 2005, opened fire at innocent people traveling on the 165 bus in a predominately Israeli Arab area, killing the driver and three passengers with his IDF-issued weapon.

Rioting resulted and second rescue workers were injured, police and MDA responders, as they tried to extricate Zada’s body from the mob.

The news of the indictments was met with an angry response from the Israeli Arab community, calling the move provocative as they view it since it sends a message that Arab citizens are not permitted to defend themselves.

Protests took place on Wednesday outside the Haifa courtroom as proceedings took place.

After the weapon used by Zada was wrestled away from him, police stood by while the mob lynched him. There are also calls that police be held accountable for not taking the necessary action to prevent his lynching death.

  1. Finally, these residents killed a mentally sick young man, and deserve to be punished.
What were the police doing, watching a TV show, this was a human being who was being lynched to death?? Did they take photos to share at the police station and to joke about?

  2. #1 – what evidence was there that he was mentally ill – the factors cited by the government shrinks as proof of insanity were that he had recently increased his level of religious observance and supported “Kahanism” (well, “they” think that proves you crazy). That the police wanted him dead is logical (his trial would be an embarassment), and the response of the people who killed his was also reasonable (most Israeli Jews would do the same thing to a captured terrorist, if they could).

He might be considered a misguided patriot, and if you are a fanatic religious zionist you might consider him heroic, but I would hardly says he was insane or mentally ill.

  3. #3 Check out the medical reports after the lynching and you will find info that you are not aware of that points to mental illness.

(most Israeli Jews would do the same thing to a captured terrorist, if they could).—to a captured terrorist, NO, NO!!
To a terrorist shooting a gun–every Jew would try to stop them, unless he is a self-hater?!
