The IDF soldier killed in the Chol Hamoed Sukkos terror attack in Hebron has been identified as Givati Brigade Sgt. Gal Gavriel Kobi HY”D, 20, from Tirat HaCarmel. His levaya began on Monday, 19 Tishrei 5774 at 16:00, in the Haifa Military Beis Hachaim.

Kobi was struck in his neck by a single gunshot fired by a sniper. His condition was critical and despite the efforts by paramedics and military physicians, the medivac chopper flight from Hebron to the trauma unit of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim, he died as a result of his injuries. The shooting attack occurred near the Machpelah at a time when thousands of mispallalim and visitors were still in the holy city on the third day of chol hamoed in Eretz Yisrael.
