A Holon infant who choked while being fed shortly after his bris milah about a week ago has died in the hospital R”L.

Shmuel ben Orit was rushed to Wolfson Hospital in the city shortly after his bris. It was first believed his critical condition was due to the bris, but it was learned that this was not so. He had choked while being fed a short time later.

Among those expressing their condolences to the bereaved family were Chief Rabbis Yonah Metzger and Shlomo Amar, who highlighted doctors have already stated the infant’s critical condition was not the result of a bungled bris.

One of the doctors interviewed in Wolfson shortly following the baby’s arrival explained that following the bris, an infant is more susceptible and care must be taken when feeding him to prevent choking, as appears to have occurred in this case.
