(Click on image to ENLARGE) 37-year-old Lee Tucker, the man who brutally attacked Rabbi Moskowitz on October 9, 2007 – has been indicted on Tuesday in an Ocean County court. His charges include attempted murder, possession of a weapon, a bat, for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of that weapon.
Rabbi Mordechai Moskowitz, a third-grade Rebbe at Lakewood Cheder, was brutally beaten while walking to Daven Maariv – at Princeton Avenue and 12th Street (reported HERE on YWN). He was rushed by Hatzolah to the Jersey Shore Trauma Unit, where he remained in a coma in critical condition for a few days. Large Tehillim gatherings were held in Frum communities, and Rabbi Moskowitz made a miraculous recovery. The highlight of his recovery was when he returned to Lakewood Cheder for the first time after the attack. Thousands of children singing and dancing greeted him at The Cheder (reported HERE) – where he has been a Rebbi for close to 25 years.
The community came out in storm, and large rewards had been offered for any information leading to Lee Tucker’s arrest. After an intense investigation, he was was arrested Oct. 24, just a few blocks from the attack (reported HERE).
According to the Asbury Park Press, Tucker remains in the Ocean County Jail, unable to post $300,000 bail.
