Following the tragic drowning of a bachur who drowned before tashlich in Uman last Rosh Hashanah, steps are being taken to prevent a reoccurrence in the future chas v’sholom.

Breslov International reports that officials have met with local fire officials and they reached agreement that area emergency divers will remain on standby close to the site of the tziyun of Rav Nachman.

There is close cooperation maintained between organizers and fire officials as the latter is quite active in its role during the Yomim Nora’im in Uman, constantly patrolling and checking to prevent a fire, which could lead to catastrophe due to the large number of participants, tens of thousands of people from around the world.
