With June 2012 unemployment surpassing the 16,000 mark, some experts in Israel insist this is a sign that we are heading in a downward spiral, rejecting statements from Finance Minister Dr. Yuval Shteinitz that Israel has successful weathered the global economic storm.
More women are unemployed (8,587) then men (7,497). Unemployment is higher among unskilled workers such as cleaners (2,914), building and factory workers (2,770), service and sales (2,644) and white collar, attorneys, physicians and accountants (2,035).
Unemployment is highest in the north (13.6%), followed by the south (13.1%), the Gush Dan area (5.6%) and Jerusalem (4.7%).
Dimona in the south and the Israeli Arab municipality of Um el-Fahm lead with 16.2% unemployment, followed by Akko (15.8%), Yerucham (15.4%), Mitzpei Ramon (14.3%), Nazareth (13.4%), Ofakim (13.4%), Tzfas (13.4%), Shlomei (12%), Kiryat Malachi (11.9%), Kiryat Gat (11.8%), Ashdod (7.9%), Beersheva (7.9%), Ashkelon (7.5%), Haifa (4.9%), Yerushalayim (4.1%), Rishon L’Tzion (3.4%), Tel Aviv (3.3%), Herzliya (2.0%), Ramat HaSharon (1.8%).
The largest number of unemployed is in Tel Aviv (1,072) and in Yerushalayim (803).
Histadrut Labor Federation officials warn of the climbing unemployment and the need for government action before the situation worsens.

Why is the economy so bad today? Why is the whole world going down? For the past thousands of years there was always Avoda zara in the world-from the molech to the baal to the asheira tree etc…-todays avoda zara is MONEY, we are a servant to money, we serve money, we bow down to money, we let money talk & rule us. Thus we leave Hashem no choice but to take it away from us Rachmana L’tzlan. But you can still save yourself from going down. if a person can use his money the right way & remember that it all comes from Hashem & it was just loaned to him (even though he worked for it), then he is the perfect person to continue holding Hashem’s money.
