Officials on Monday morning began probing the cross-border attack at the Kerem Shalom Crossing on Sunday night.
According to the preliminary findings, the terrorists that crossed into Israel were eliminated by a multi-pronged attack by the air force and artillery fire. IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz visited the location of the attack early Monday morning and he spoke with soldiers and commanders, giving special praise to the soldiers of the Bedouin unit that was involved in the fighting.
Military officials report the terrorists detonated a truck full of explosives and there was an armored personnel carrier at other vehicles. IDF Spokesman Brigadier-General Yoav Mordechai states the terrorists were heavily armed. Other officials added that that some of the 5-6 terrorists were also wearing explosive belts.
