Migron Residents Call on High Court to Cancel Eviction

After Jews purchased 80% of the land upon which homes in Ramat Migron were built, the resident of the community petitioned the High Court of Justice in the hope of having the eviction order against them lifted since there is no longer a question of their homes occupying Arab land.

Justice Salim Jubran on Tuesday, 13 Tammuz turned to court president Justice Asher Gronis, who complied with a request to place a gag order on any and all documents documenting the land sale for publicizing the information would reveal the identity of the parties involved which would place them in perilous danger.

Simultaneously, a district court instructed the IDF Civil Administration to refrain from publicizing any of the information that may lead to the identities of those involved in the land purchase for the same reason, aware of the fact that according to PA (Palestinian Authority) law, selling land to Jews is a capital offense.

The High Court will reconvene on the matter in two weeks.
