A construction worker was reported to have fallen from the Throgs Neck Bridge Friday morning, sparking a search of the waters below.

The worker was reported to have fallen from the bridge just after 8:15 a.m.

Emergency workers responded in boats, but did not immediately find the victim.

The worker, employed by Nuco Construction, was on a platform repairing the bridge, when it suddenly tipped over at 8 a.m., authorities said. Workers initially spotted the victim but he later disappeared from view. NYPD, FDNY and Coast Guard divers are at the scene.

Traffic was expected to be delayed in both directions across the bridge.

The Throgs Neck Bridge connects the Bronx and Queens.
