A 19-year-old male was stabbed and moderately injured in the community of Elad on Thursday night, February 23, 2012. The incident occurred on Pinchas Ben Yair Street.

According to medics who were on the scene, the victim was stabbed twice in his back. The lone attacker fled the scene and police continue the search in the hope of apprehending him. The victim was transported to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah.

Kikar Shabbat quotes Ichud Hatzalah EMT Ze’evi Tefer who was on the scene. He explains the victim simply went outside to get some fresh air and he was attacked without provocation. Tefer stated he detected two stab wounds to his back.

Police do not seem to believe this was terrorist related. Reports do not point to the motive for the attack.
