The tzibur is davening for the eldest child of Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita, HaGaon HaRav Yaakov [Chai ben Margalit] Yosef, who was R”L diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

YWN-ISRAEL recently reported  that Rav Yaakov told participants in a shiur that his chances of recovery from a medical perspective “are slim”, calling on the tzibur to be mispallel for his recovery.

Rav Yaakov visited his father, where he received brachos following the recent diagnosis of his terminal illness. Much of the time was spent among other family members, but at some point, Rav Ovadia and Rav Yaakov sat privately. When that private meeting ended the Rav gave his son a copy of the new Volume 4 of his sefer Chazon Ovadia. Rav Yaakov indicated that he received a copy from his son and had already reviewed it, praising his father’s work.

Rav Ovadia called on family members to encourage the tzibur to take part in the Yom Kippur Katan tefilos on Rav Yaakov’s behalf on Tuesday afternoon, 29 Tevet 5772, at 15:00 at the Kosel.
