The Ponevezh Rosh Yeshiva, HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein Shlita has been transported to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, 5 Cheshvan. It appears the Rosh Yeshiva suffered a cardiac incident.

An ambulance was summoned to the Rosh Yeshiva’s home after he attended the Levaya of HaRav Yosef Halperin Z”L, in Bnei Brak.

The Rosh Yeshiva did not feel well and Ichud Hatzolah EMTs were summoned to his home, beginning with primary care. The decision was made to transport the rosh yeshiva to the hospital to permit more extensive testing. He was taken in a paramedic unit.

The tzibur is requested to daven for Rav Yerachmiel Gershon ben Miriam for a refuah shleima b’soch shar cholei  yisrael.
