An Israel Air Force F-15 fighter jet was compelled to make an emergency landing in the Tel Nof base on Thursday (8 Tishrei) after a bird became entangled in the engine. The pilot and navigator escaped unharmed.

The emergency landing occurred close to noon, in an open area of the southern base. The crew got out in time as flames were seen emanating from the motor. The fire was extinguished and air force officials explain the next stage is an investigation.
