Asking A Goy To Turn On The Air Conditioning On Shabbos

Today, many people are accustomed to air conditioning. Therefore, on Shabbos when one is very hot one may ask on goy to turn on the air conditioning for him. The reason for this is because it is two shevusim (Amira L’nuchri and turn on electric) and it is a case of tzar. If it is too cold the goy can be asked to turn off the air conditioning. Horav  Moshe Feinstein zt”l took issue in regard to setting a timer to make ones air conditioner or any electric device go on during Shabbos expect for lights. Nonetheless, this is not the minhag, and therefore, one is permitted to set a timer to make his air conditioner etc. go on during Shabbos.
