I don’t want to get into a whole stink about it but if someone has the right Hashkafos, they will realize that one doesn’t lose money from doing mitzvos and more importantly Hashem gives us money so that we use it to do mitzvos, if one cheaps out on mitzvos then Hashem will just give him less and less money. Its really ugly to cheap out on mitzvos. A Kosher set of Arba minim is $40 especially the day before or day of erev yom tov. If someone doesn’t want to pay that money don’t plead poverty say straight out that my cigarettes, fancy clothing, restaurant meals and other luxuries are more important to me than the mitzvos of Hashem and I won’t be bothered laying out a measly $40 for a mitzvah.
