Gov. Andrew Cuomo Bests Christie, Bloomberg, Obama In New Poll

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been riding a wave of popularity in the Empire State, but now a new poll pits him against other leaders, both local and national.

A Quinnipiac University poll matched Cuomo against President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Poll director Maurice Carroll says Cuomo beat all three.

“Is he a better leader than Obama? 46 to 35 say yeah. Better leader than Bloomberg? 51 to 35 say yeah. Is he better at cutting government spending than Gov. Christie? 40 to 29,” Carroll told WCBS 880 reporter Rich Lamb.

Carroll says Cuomo’s overall job approval rating stands at a solid 62 percent while 64 percent of voters say they like Cuomo.

Voters were also asked to describe Cuomo in one word. The top two responses were “good” and “competent” while the number 9 response was “arrogant.” Only one person offered a profanity.

  1. Had Coumo been a Republican the unions would be after him just like they did in Wisconsin, the teachers union would would cry wolf for his cuts in education and so on.

  2. 1. That’s not the same as asking who do you want for President?

    2. Unless Obama pulls a “Lyndon Johnson”, the Democrats are stuck with Obama-Biden in 2012, so if the USA hasn’t self-destructed, we are talking about 2016.
