Oomis, the smell of a dead mouse lasts longer then a few days, not a day or two. When I lived in an apartment building, let’s just say, there was a major rodent problem. I smelled something bad from under the fridge. I had a feeling what it might be, and my assertion was correct. Yuck!! As far as men taking care of the dead ones, my husband would be away on business alot, and guess who got to get rid of them, yours truly!!
There was also, the time we caught a mouse, and then later found a baby had crawled out from behind the china cabinet. When we looked behind with a flashlight, we found the nest with alot of shredded paper, with 2 more babies. Apparently we caught the mother, and one of the babies came out looking for food.
Oh, and they are crafty. I would find dropping on the top of my refridgerator. I figured out how the got there. Due to lack of counterspace in the apartment, I kept my Microwave on the of the fridge. They apprently climbed the electrical cord all the way up to the top. They are great climbers!!
