I can only tell you from what I know from when I was in Israel over 6 years ago. A Yeshiva changes and it’s not enough to go on. From what I understand the Yeshivatakes boys from various backgrounds who are intelligent and want to grow but are not really learning yet. I would say almost all boys come from black hat families but there are a few non hat wearers. The learning is on a solid level and there are a few shiurim first and second year I dont know about 3rd. Some shiurim are harder some easier but they work with you. Every shiur has its own shoel umaishiv to ask questions and help the bachurim in their learning or to stam be there for them as a friend. The Yeshivais a warm place very the staff are all top notch, accommodations are tops for Israel nice rooms decent size. The food is pretty good as well. I They Yeshiva used to be compared to a hotel because it was geared towards rich families and the accommodations were on a high level. The tuition isn’t cheap but not everyone who goes there is wealthy and I’m sure they will work with you.
Most guys come out of there significantly better than when they entered. Some guys flip out and become Yeshivish or just really serious bnei Torah who go on to the Mir and end up in kollel after marriage. TypicalMercaz guys stay in Israel1-3 years (most guys actually stay at least 2 years) and then go back to America and enter a yeshiva/college program.
The yeshiva is in Talpiot which is a quiet area of a more upper class retired or close to it non frum Israelis. Nice area away from everything but a 15 minute cab ride gets you to wherever you need to go like geulah or the Mir…
