I don’t know how you suppose people here would ever get to know the subject. We ourselves are mostly anonymous one to another.
As far as paying for the damage, I’m not a Rabbi, Dayan, Rav or anything remotely similar. I just think of he sat on it, the normal fashion, like anyone else, then he’s not considered to be a mazik. No claim at all. Not in earthly court ???? ???, not in heavenly one either.
