(Click on image to see additional photos.) 11:15AM EST: Avenue U and Ocean Parkway a Flatbush Hatzolah Ambulance was just involved in a MVA. Numerous ambulances and units en-route to the scene. Unknown injuries. UPDATE 11:50AM EST: The patient from the ambulance was transferred to another Hatzolah ambulance, and EMS was treating the driver of the car. The ambulance only sustained minor injuries.

When are people going to finally learn to Stop or pull over when there is an ambulance.
As a Hatzoloh member I can tell you that the number of people who ignore the siren is unbelievable.
Yes, many people do ignore the lights and sirens but… Using lights and sirens is considered a privilege. In many court case when an ambulance was involved in a motor vehicle crash it was ruled that an ambulance is equal to a taxi and the ambulance driver was at fault. The fact that it has lights and sirens does not mean it can ignore traffic laws. According to the law- while using lights and sirens emergency vehicles must stop at all stop signs and red lights.
